Level Up Your Learning: Make your Canvas content interactive with H5P!

Boost active learning and engagement with H5P, an easy-to-use tool available in Canvas, for producing interactive learning resources alongside other course materials: quizzes, interactive simulations, revision aids, drag-and-drop activities, virtual tours, interactive videos, eye-catching presentations, and much more.

Active participation, instant feedback, and catering to different learning styles lead to deeper understanding - a key element of the Liverpool Curriculum Framework. H5P makes it easy to achieve.

H5P is enabled in Canvas for everyone! The Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) offers free author licenses for you to trial H5P and build engaging activities. For larger projects (e.g. new programmes or educational projects) consider a University-provided H5P author license through IT Services. Email cie@liverpool.ac.uk to learn more!

Ready to take the next step?

• H5P is enabled in Canvas for anyone to use to create new resources. The Centre for Innovation in Education have a number of author licenses freely available for staff to trial H5P and build activities that they can use with their students on an on-going basis.
• In addition, the University offers H5P author licenses through IT Services; if you are developing a new module, programme, or other large-scale educational resource and want to build interactivity in right from the start, this is the route to take giving you a dedicated license for a year.

We can help you get started

• The Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) offers training and support to help you explore the possibilities of H5P and bring your interactive learning visions to life. Our Canvas Bootcamp in June will feature a dedicated session on H5P and we can provide one-to-one and departmental training.
• Dedicated support Spring/Summer 2025: Through our network of interns we can provide dedicated support to develop templates for activities and use cases.
