Reflections on an Internship at Distance with CIE
As part of the Syntegrative Learning Module for the MSc in Digital Education at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), the Centre for Innovation in Education annually accepts student interns to work on current and future-facing innovation projects – aligning with the Learning Outcomes (Los) of the syntegrative module, expanding their knowledge and skills, and enhancing their employability and experience.

Getting lost in the enchanted forest, or Falling in love with Padlet (again)
I still remember the first time I was introduced to Padlet. It was an icebreaker activity during an online event; I was asked to search for an image online that reflected how I felt that day and post it to a virtual wall. I found Padlet intuitive to use but - and forgive me for saying this – I couldn’t help thinking, Here is another tool. You see, although I’m a digital education specialist, I can be a little bit reticent when it comes to new tools in that I need to be convinced of the value before I sign up. In Padlet terms, I might be a sceptical sheep, or a dubious donkey…

COVID-19 and Educational Transitions Conference Report

With the move to online teaching taking place almost overnight, the loss of in-person interaction, and the advent of digital technologies that now seem almost essential to our everyday lives, there has been a lasting effect on the HE sector.

Solstice Conference Edge Hill University - 5th-6th June 2019. Who are you and who do you want to be?
I attended Edge Hill’s Solstice Conference on 5th June 2019 in Ormskirk. It was a productive and fast paced day filled with great practice and inspirational talks. A real highlight of the conference was witnessing Phil Race’s semi-retirement ‘This is Your Life’ presentation and celebration.
