

Job Description
As Race Equality Officer, I work to embed race equality in the University’s policies, practices and communications; building a community in which all staff and students feel able to contribute and develop their knowledge and skills to the full.
My primary focuses include:
- Co-ordinating the development of the University’s Race Equality Charter (REC) application and Action Plan, and supporting its implementation at an institutional and local level
- Identifying and promoting best practice in race equality through knowledge sharing, developing and delivering training and online resources, and supporting staff development activity
- Assisting and informing policy development, and practice intervention implementation, which has a positive impact on race equality
- Working closely with other members of the Equality and Engagement Team, and across the institution, to ensure that race equality work takes an intersectional approach.
