Driving Liverpool 2031

Our actions reflect researcher feedback and align with Liverpool 2031, embedding our values of Ambitious, Collaborative, Inclusive, Innovative, and Responsible across all initiatives.

We have used a range of data to collate this information, including our biannual Culture, Employment, and Development in Academic Research Survey (CEDARS), which is nationally benchmarked; feedback from the Research Staff Association, local research staff networks and faculty committees, and evaluations from all our development activities.

The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, commonly known as the Researcher Development Concordat, is an agreement between funders and employers of researchers in the UK. It sets out expectations and responsibilities of each stakeholder in research careers, researchers themselves, their managers (Principal Investigators), employers and funders. It also articulates key principles for the support and management of research careers and illustrates how each principle may be embedded into institutional practice.

The University has been awarded an HR Excellence in Research Award to reflect Liverpool’s sustained commitment in supporting researchers and improving working conditions and career development opportunities for research staff.
