Rachel’s role
Rachel leads on the day-to-day management, delivery and operation of the Thrive project. This includes developing and monitoring of deliverables, overseeing project finances and line-management for part of the team.
About Rachel
Rachel’s background is in the NHS, where she spent 12 years working in the field of tissue donation. She performed multi-tissue retrievals for transplant from deceased donors, developed and managed a referral system for deceased patients in hospitals and was part of the team who set up the UK’s first research eye bank.
During her involvement with the eye bank, she discovered her passion for project management and in 2018 moved to the University of Liverpool where she spent five years working on multiple international projects, including two European H2020 RISE projects and an ERDF project.
Outside of work Rachel is a photographer, working with 35mm and medium format film which she develops herself. She also spends as much time in nature as she can and loves to go hiking.
