Engaging with stakeholders

To fully understand what steps need to be taken to redefine how research teams operate, the project team has engaged with a range of stakeholders through a series of workshops, surveys and interviews to gather invaluable insights, experiences and feedback.

Between Autumn 2023 and Winter 2024 a number of 'Thrive Together' workshops were held, both online and in-person.

The workshops were hugely successful and enabled the project team to work collaboratively to fine tune and enhance a new team-led model for research teams, which is underpinned by five key principles, and is being piloted though a live funding call with AHRC.

Engaging with applicants

The team also engaged with applicants to capture experiences and reflections of drawing together their team and applying for AHRC funding.

The team is analysing the data, and this will be reported at the end of the project later this year (September 2025).

Engaging with the research community

The project team has also carried out 1:1 interviews to gather more general insights from a wide range of stakeholders from across the research community.

This was a valuable exercise, for both the team and the participants, and the feedback gathered has been used to develop the how-to articles.
