Joint Modelling RCT Workshop
A new workshop, funded by the Medical Research Council North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research (MRC NWHTMR) is being held 4th October 2018, 10:00 - 15.30, Foresight Centre (Thornton room, North Atrium), University of Liverpool, Liverpool, UK.
Structure of the workshop
- Introduction to classical joint models of time-to-event and longitudinal data
- Extensions to competing risks data and multivariate longitudinal data
- Dynamic Prediction
- Clinical Applications
- Hands-on practical session in R
How to register
Please note, this workshop is free to attend, but places are limited to 15 and must be reserved in advance. This workshop is now closed.
Practical information
- The workshop will take place in at the Foresight Centre at the University of Liverpool Campus, address The Foresight Centre, 1 Brownlow Street, Liverpool, L69 3GL. This is within easy reach of Liverpool Lime Street station, as shown on the Liverpool University Map as building 359 in gridsquare C10.
- The workshop is free and funded by the Medical Research Council North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research (MRC NWHTMR).
- If you are planning to drive, please find information for vistor car parking here.
- The workshop will run 10:30 to 15:30 (registration at 10:00 to 10:30). Please ensure you have arrived in time to avoid delays in registering and starting.
- If you have any further questions, please contact the either Mrs. Paula Makrides or Mrs Karen Hughes.
What will I need on the day?
- Bring your own laptop. Power sockets will be available to plug your chargers into.
- We will provide printed copies of the slides and practical sheets on the day. However, you might find it useful to have PDF copies on your laptops.
- Installed versions of R 3.4.0 (or above) and the following R packages:
- joineR (>=1.2.2)
- joineRML (>=0.4.0)
- joineRmeta (>=0.1.1)
- If you need to obtain a copy of R (which is free), please download from the CRAN website. To install R packages from CRAN, run (for example) the following command: install.packages("joineRML"), from any R console.
- A basic knowledge of R is preferable, though not essential.
- You may require WiFi on the day (e.g. for downloading additional R packages). If you do not have an eduroam or University of Liverpool account, you can gain guest access to the WiFi network.
Do I need to study anything in advance?
- You might want to consider reading the following papers, but this is not essential, as we will cover the core theory in the workshop.
