My main research interests are in:
Epidemiology and surveillance of gastrointestinal infections (particularly norovirus infections)

I currently co-supervise three PhD students at the university of Liverpool, one looking at the impact of norovirus in care homes in the North West of England, one on the use of social media data to track infectious diseases and one project looking at how to use statistical modelling techniques to understand under-reporting of norovirus infections.
I am also co-supervising one MD student looking at using school absence data as a method of detecting increases in infectious disease in the community.
