Our work with schools

Across Mathematical Sciences, Chemistry and Physics we offer a variety of events for school pupils, from Year 5 to Year 13. Most are highly interactive and range from laboratory demonstrations to talks about specialist subjects, such as nanotechnology.

Our undergraduates create and present school activities as part of their degree programmes, which provides a great opportunity for pupils to discuss studying science at a university - with people doing exactly that.

Now, with the opening of the University's Central Teaching Hub we are hoping to expand the programme and welcome many more pupils to campus.

For more information about our school programmes and events, including  tuition for talented pupils, please see our individual .

Widening participation

The University of Liverpool runs an award-winning programme designed to increase student aspiration and access to our courses.

In 2011, 8600 students from over 200 schools took part in the programme, which has a strong focus on STEM subjects.
