It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Dr Naomi Tyrrell, Managing Director of research Research Your Way Ltd and an ICF Certified Career and Impact Coach to our next InFocus event, Just do it! Real-world Impact for your Research.

This workshop will help you explore how to ensure your academic research has positive real-world impact. Naomi will discuss the stages involved in developing an impact strategy, using practical examples from a range of arts and humanities projects that she has led.

Over lunch, you will have the opportunity to identify the skills needed for navigating research impact cultures within and beyond academia, exploring what is similar and what is different, and why these differences matter. By the end of the session, you will be confident in creating an impact plan for your current or future research project and build your research network!

In Focus is a series of workshops especially designed for PGRs aiming at providing insights, guidance, and support with key aspects of your graduate studies in the School of the Arts.

It was introduced in direct response to student-identified needs through SOTA IPR, annual DNAs and SSLCs. InFocus is an opportunity to share information and guidance while operating as an open forum for discussion and collaboration between PGR students and staff, thus enhancing the School’s research community and culture.
