Time travel philosophy in movies

This lecture will explore the philosophical ideas of time travel behind several blockbuster movies including Interstellar, Terminator, Back to the Future, and Planet of the Apes.

Led by Stephen Kearns from the Department of Philosophy, University of Liverpool we will investigate which philosophical theories of time certain movies adopt and the main themes that underlie them all.

This lecture will give you a greater understanding of the issues surrounding time travel and will hopefully allow you to answer the question “can we really change the future?”

Suitable for ages 12+.
