The Mystery of Consciousness

Join some of the world’s leading philosophers of mind for an evening of lively debate and discussion.

We are delighted to announce that the Department of Philosophy will be collaborating with The Panpsycast and Premier Christian Radio to produce ‘The Mystery of Consciousness’- a live event with philosophers and scientists on the origin of consciousness.

The exiting line-up of speakers making up the panel will include former Archbishop Rowan Williams, Neuroscientist Anil Seth, and Philosophers of Mind Laura Gow and Philip Goff. The discussion will be chaired by Jack Symes, producer of The Panpsycast and editor of Talking about Philosophy, and Olly Marley, co-host of The Panpsycast.

The event will also feature an audience Q&A, live music, and author meet-and-greets.

‘The Mystery of Consciousness’ will be taking place at Liverpool’s newly opened Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, Tung Auditorium, on the 20th May 2022.

Tickets are available here.
