Janie Bamforth

What are you graduating in?

LLM Law, Medicine and Healthcare.

How will you be celebrating your graduation day?

On my graduation day I will invite family members to join me for a celebratory meal after the graduation ceremony.

Can you share a highlight of your time at University or a quote about your time here with us:

A highlight of my time of the LLM course was taking part in a student debate in class. I was very nervous to do this but it actually ended up being really fun and helped me make friends on the course despite the whole year being virtual!

What are your next steps and plans for the future?

I am now completing my final year of medical school (as my masters was an intercalated degree between 4th and 5th years of med school) and am looking forward to qualifying as a doctor next July. I hope to become a paediatrician and use the skills I learnt on the Children, Medicine and the Law module in my future career!

Evgeniya Polyakova

What are you graduating in?

LLM International Economic Law

How will you be celebrating your graduation day?

Due to the entire course being conducted online, the best celebration for me will be a long-awaited meeting with LLM students from my course.

Can you share a highlight of your time at University or Can you provide us with a quote about your time here with us:

Given the circumstances surrounding COVID throughout the year of study, I can describe my time at the University as “Nothing is impossible”. Despite all the difficulties, I got an amazing experience, gained invaluable knowledge and skills.

What are your next steps and plans for the future?

I plan to start my legal career in the field of international arbitration and international investments. I want to provide full legal support to foreign investors abroad, as well as protect their rights and interests in case of conflict situations.
