My scholarship focuses on Italian language pedagogy, and especially on the use of translation (including AV) in language learning. I am also interested in other areas, e.g. assessment, digital skills, use of literature and authentic materials.

Along with my work in the field of Italian language pedagogy, I have a research expertise in the literature of the Italian Resistance, with a focus on intertexuality and links between classical (Latin, Greek) literatures and Italian XX century novelists, especially partisan writer Beppe Fenoglio (1922-1963), with a special interest in epics.
