mural of Latin America

Aims

As one of the five original UK “Parry” research centres for Latin American Studies founded in 1966, Liverpool has an established reputation as a hub for the study of Latin America.

The Latin American Studies Network is a Liverpool-based multidisciplinary network whose aim is to bring together experts in Latin American studies to support research in the field, exchange ideas, and to provide opportunities for collaborations amongst the members. Whilst based in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Film, the Latin American Studies Network will bring together scholars from across the University and beyond, in order to share ideas and connect individuals and groups.

The Network organises regular seminars, workshops, and symposia. The Network aims to create opportunities for dialogue, sharing, and dissemination of research by members from across the North West and invite international collaborations. The Latin American Studies Network invites students, scholars, and the general public to join us in learning more about the rich cultures, histories, politics, and social dynamics of the region.
