Teacher with students in class

Activities for schools

We are committed to supporting teachers and career advisers who provide information and advice to their students about studying one of our subjects. As part of this commitment, we offer a range of activities, taster sessions and resources designed to give your students a realistic insight into what it's like to study here.

We can work with you to link content to your curriculum or give you a taste of what it is like to study our subjects at University level. Thanks to our wide range of subject areas, we can design sessions that embrace two or more subjects to bring them together for you under a single theme.

COVID-19

We are always delighted to hear from schools and colleges who are interested in working with our Department of History. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we unfortunately cannot offer on-campus sessions at this moment in time. However please check out the online resources that we have created to keep classes excited to learn more about History! We hope that you find these online resources beneficial and we look forward to providing face to face school sessions again soon.

Your students

History is a fascinating subject and at Liverpool we bring it to life. Through our innovative teaching methods, students who study with us will work closely with lecturers to unlock the debates and problems at the heart of current historical research.

They'll be taught to use varied and unusual sets of primary source material, focusing on a mixture of topics from high politics, statecraft and international relations to social and cultural history.

Working alongside our staff, they will develop and present their ideas to the wider community through blogging, films, theatre productions and museum exhibitions.
