Year Abroad

The Year Abroad programme is brand new this year and gives you a unique opportunity to spend a full academic year at one of our partner universities based all over the world.

The year abroad allows you to extend your degree programme by one year, taking a standard three programme to four years. You can go on the year abroad in between second and third year, and you must apply during second year.

**Please note students on a degree programme which includes a language cannot apply for the year abroad programme as you will be on your languages year abroad in third year.**

The programme is designed to be flexible and suit your interests, and is a fantastic opportunity to learn in-depth about your host country and/or learn new and exciting knowledge to complement your degree studies back in Liverpool.

You can study modules related to the history, culture or language of your host country, or a range of subject-related modules, or a combination of both. All modules are taught in English so you don’t need to worry about language barriers.

The Year Abroad is marked on a pass/fail basis and gives you the opportunity to change your degree title to include ‘with a Year Abroad’ upon graduation. If you fail the year you will revert back to your original degree programme.

Academic Criteria

60% average or above in semester 1 exams, maintain 60% average or above in semester 2 exams. No fails/resits in the August re-sit period
