Funding for postgraduate research
Wherever possible we build funding for studentships into our research proposals, which has created a thriving postgraduate population at the University. There are also other ways of funding your studies here, such as:
Studentships are available on a competitive basis each year through the Research Council Doctoral Training Partnerships:
- Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
- North West Social Science DTP
- Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
- North West Consortium DTP
Graduate Teaching Assistantships in the School
The School is committed to offering the best training opportunities to our PGR students. As part of this we offer the opportunity to engage in teaching training and then use this in real classroom settings. When the opportunity arises PGRs who have undertaken this initial training may also be offered a paid teaching opportunity though our Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA) scheme.
Scholarships and financial support
Accommodation is offered at reduced rates to postgraduate students who work as residential advisers in University accommodation.
