ECERTA

The ECERTA project is a Marie Curie Excellence Team established under funding from the European Union's 6th Framework Project. The Team Leader is Ken Badcock, the local collaborator is John Mottershead, and the team members are Hammad Khoderpast and Simao Marques (Experienced Researchers), and Marco Prandina and Sebastien Timme (Early Stage Researchers). The team is researching methods to allow analysis (ie simulation) for certification. This requires advances in several areas. First CFD based Aeroelastic Simulation is being advanced. Two main developments will be made for parametric searches (through fast methods and modelling hierarchy) and for quantifying uncertainty due to aerodynamic modelling. Secondly stochastic model updating and the modelling of damping will be considered. Finally, these two lines will be combined into a flutter speed prediction together with a confidence level.
