Research Interest 1
1. Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) of naturally and experimentally deformed samples of rock and metal, with a view to understanding microstructural evolution via nucleation and recrystallisation processes, petrophysical properties and seismic characteristics.
2. In situ experiments in the scanning electron microscope (SEM) using fast acquisition EBSD.
3. Experimental rock deformation of brittle and ductile fault rocks to understand frictional properties and seismic characteristics.
4. Fundamental interests in structural geology and tectonics.
