Currently Sondos is engaged with the Choice Trial which is looking into family focused therapeutic methods to improve child oral healthcare.

The radio discussion revolved around the multitude of issues facing children’s oral health and the struggleless parents go through finding available NHS dentists, the difficulty encouraging healthy eating and promoting education in schools on good oral hygiene.

Sondos praised the efforts of the Childsmile programme set up in Scotland which aims to reduce inequalities. She also highlighted the lack of specialists in paediatric dentistry in the UK as one of the major barriers in reducing general anaesthetic waiting lists.
