Hybrid Active Learning (HAL) Support - our Canvas Course

The HAL Support Canvas Course is a "one stop shop" for digital education, and was created to support staff preparing for hybrid delivery of modules or programmes during the pandemic.

It contains guidance, information and resources about: the HAL principles, the HAL development process (planning and implementation), active learning, scaffolding, assessment and feedback, hybrid teaching modes, group work, student engagement, digital tools, accessibility, academic advising and learning design. It also features case studies of hybrid module designs from colleagues in each faculty.

University staff are automatically enrolled on it - you'll find it under the 'courses' tab when you log in to Canvas. It's searchable, so if you're looking for something and can't immediately find it, try the search box. You'll also find links to it throughout our digital education webpages.

If you're not a member of our University, many of the resources housed in Canvas are also available via our CIE resources page.

Whilst the Centre for Innovation in Education (CIE) has coordinated this resource development it is very much a collaboration between services including The Academy, CSD, The Library and Faculties.
