About

Personal Statement

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology at the University of Liverpool and the Human Palaeosystems Group at the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology.

I graduated from my PhD in July 2023 at the University of Liverpool. My doctoral research investigated the articulation between lithic technology and palaeoenvironmental change during the eastern African Middle Stone Age. The project involved the development of a collaborative research design with several museum partners across the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.

My PhD research was funded by the following sources:
- Leakey Foundation Research Grant ($12,646, 2020-2023)
- Wenner Gren Dissertation Fieldwork Grant ($19,995, 2021-2023)
- Lithic Studies Society Jacobi Award (£250 - 2022)
- North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership PhD Studentship (~£60,000, 2019-2023)

I am now working on projects that focus on developing replicable measures of technological innovation in archaeological populations to explore causes of cultural change and stasis.
