Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging

If you wish to work towards a designated ‘Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging)’ at the University of Liverpool, you must successfully complete the following modules:

1x compulsory A-Module:
A-FAVP.1 Foundations in Advanced Veterinary Practice
1x compulsory B-Module:
B-SAP.1 Small Animal Practice
1x compulsory C-Module:
C-VDI.1 Imaging in Practice (Small Animal)
2x C-Modules:
C-VDI.2

Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging - Orthopaedics

C-VDI.3 Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging - Soft Tissue
Plus, 1x other B or C-Module: Pick from the complete list of modules

Compulsory modules, A-FAVP.1, B-SAP.1 should be completed in order. We highly recommend completing C-VDI.1 before continuing to other C-modules.

PLEASE NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure that you have access to sufficient appropriate cases where you were the primary decision maker to produce adequate material for the module. This may not be possible with some internship positions. You must also be aware of any limitations of your facilities that may make the accumulation of appropriate cases difficult or impossible.

Upon successful completion of all six modules, candidates must also pass a Synoptic Examination, in order to be awarded a designated certificate. Synoptic Examinations take place once per year, in spring, at the University’s Leahurst campus.

Please be aware that the Synoptic Examination is not an examination of module content; rather, it is an all-encompassing examination on the subject of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, wherein candidates present themselves to be examined as an Advanced Practitioner in the subject.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the scope and content of your chosen designation, and that you are adequately prepared for the examination. We are unable to provide access to lectures, notes or other module content for modules that you are not currently studying with us.
