Day & Evening Courses

The Veterinary Postgraduate Unit's CPD Vets team offers a comprehensive programme of Small Animal, Equine and Veterinary Nurse CPD workshops throughout the year. These are aimed at veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in practice.

Workshops take place during the week at the Leahurst Campus, Wirral, using our modern training suites and referral hospitals. Most courses include practical hands-on sessions and case-based discussions and are led by veterinary specialists from the School of Veterinary Science or other renowned speakers from throughout the profession.

Many of the workshops complement the CertAVP modules.

COVID-19 Guidelines

The University of Liverpool have implemented several precautionary measures, while COVID still remains in the community, to keep the University community and each other safe. The main measures include 50% room occupancy as a standard (which equates to 1m social distancing), wearing of a face covering indoors and testing protocols for staff, students and visitors.

While we aim to maintain the 1m distancing during our workshops, there might be occasions where it is not possible, such as for short periods during demonstrations. The vet school has implemented some additional special measures to allow for these occasions and we ask that those attending a workshop comply in order to keep us all safe.

What you need to do:

All delegates are expected to provide proof of an NHS COVID pass to in advance of attendance (if you are fully vaccinated you can download this from the NHS COVID app- click here for details) OR you must show evidence of a negative rapid lateral flow test taken within 72 hours of attendance, with proof of a negative result (in the form of a date stamped photograph of the test or email/text proof of the NHS  COVID-19 notification confirmation). For information on how we collect and store COVID vaccination and test results please see the School of Veterinary Science’s data privacy notice.

On the day of your workshop:

Please ensure that you are wearing a face covering on arrival and at all times when indoors, except when eating or drinking. The rooms will be will ventilated, with windows open, so please be advised that you may need to bring an extra layer for warmth if the weather is colder!

Please do not attend campus if you have any of the 3 symptoms of COVID-19 (high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss/change or your sense of smell or taste) or if you are currently self-isolating due to a positive COVID test or because you have been told to self-isolate due to NHS guidelines.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Leahurst for your workshop!
