LURFC boasts four teams, four coaches, training and playing facilities of the highest standard and a great, friendly club atmosphere. From beginners to experts LURFC caters for all levels of abilities and experience.
Competitive
All four teams will play in BUCS leagues for 2023/24, with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams all participating in the BUCS Northern leagues 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A respectively.
Training takes place at Wyncote Sports Grounds on Monday and Friday at 7pm.
The club also has the opportunity to compete in arguably the pinnacle of University Rugby, Varsity. Similar to Varsity we also partake in the Christie Championships.
This year we will introduce a social team playing on a mixture of Wednesdays and weekends, catering for anyone who would like to start rugby, get back into rugby or just play socially.
Social events
The social side of LURFC is also taken very seriously. We have weekly socials, monthly AU nights including fancy dress with other teams, the Christmas party and charity events.

The Athletic Union
The Athletic Union (AU) is a student lead union founded in 1884. The AU consists of competitive sports clubs representing the University in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). The AU also provides opportunities for social sports with over 132 teams across three sports.
Being an AU member is a great way to stay active, develop management and leadership skills and meet people.

The initial cost of the AU membership is £60 and this will allow you to join one club. If you wish to join multiple clubs, the cost for each club is £24 thereafter.
