Mireia qualified in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2017. After completing a rotating internship in Valencia Sur Veterinary Referrals (Spain) she moved to the United Kingdom and worked as a general practitioner in a busy veterinary charity hospital. Being passionate about veterinary anaesthesia, Mireia undertook a specialist internship in this field at Southfields Veterinary Specialists where she then became a junior clinician in anaesthesia. Mireia also worked as a locum clinician in anaesthesia at the University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital where she uncovered her passion for teaching and academia. During her stay at Glasgow she was also involved in equine anaesthesia activities.

In March 2021 Mireia joined our anaesthesia and analgesia team, becoming an intern in this specific discipline.

Clinical Interests:

Mireia enjoys all aspects of veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia and she is interested in all species this discipline encompasses. She has focused part of her career studying management of critically ill patients and haemodynamic support, neuroanaesthesia and loco-regional anaesthesia techniques in small animals, making contributions to the veterinary community through publishing in the Anaesthesia Veterinary Associated (AVA) and presenting in national congresses.
