Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) started as the Kumasi College of technology in 1951, and was converted to University status in 1961.  The university has since then undergone major changes, organising various faculties into six colleges: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Architecture & Planning, Art & Social Sciences, Engineering, Health Science, and the college of Science.

Dr. S. K. Danuor
Dr. Danuor obtained his PhD in 2004 under a joint project between the University of Frankfurt, Germany and KNUST.  His research was on geophysical aspects of the Lake Bosumtwi impact crater: paleoenvironmental studies (including climatic changes) and impact geophysics.  Since 2005 he has been increasingly involved in research on the impact of climate variability and change on diseases, especially  malaria.
