School of Health Sciences Programmes

As well as undergraduate programmes, the School of Health Sciences delivers a range of Foundation, Continuing Professional Development and MSc programmes.

Foundation to Health and Veterinary Studies (Year 0)

The Year 0 Foundation Programme acts as a pathway to degrees in the Health Sciences and is offered in collaboration with Birkenhead Sixth Form College or Carmel College, St Helens.

This course is designed for learners with appropriate workplace experience or vocational rather than A level qualifications.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

At the School of Health Sciences, we understand the importance of investing in the professional development of our healthcare workers. We've thus cultivated a multitude of specially-tailored programmes that not only enable healthcare professionals to further develop their skills and career prospects, but which consequently also improves the quality of service that the British healthcare sector provides.

MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner

This degree apprenticeship programme provides health care practitioners with the opportunity to develop the advanced skills necessary to independently manage holistic episodes of physical and mental healthcare in a range of settings; acute, primary and emergency settings (including hospitals, general practice, individual’s homes, schools, prisons, and in the public, independent, private and charitable sectors).
