Students received a tour of the EEG Labs at the Eleanor Rathbone Building

Students studying Psychology BSc (Hons) (2+2 programme with Foundation Element), visited the University of Liverpool campus for a taster day on Wednesday 10 January.

The course, also known as C801, is a four-year degree that is run in collaboration with Wirral Metropolitan College, which feeds into C800 (BSc Hons Psychology) at year two.

Students were welcomed to the Eleanor Rathbone Building by Doctoral Academic Teachers Sophie Ellerington and Olivia Pike, before taking part in a sample lecture and introduction to the module PSYC133 (Biological Psychology), delivered by Dr Christopher Brown.

They also took part in a talk about student life and a Q&A, delivered by current second year students.

Following the talks, students were given a tour of the Brain and Behaviour Lab, where they were introduced to EEG equipment, before taking part in a tour of the Bar Lab and the University campus.

The C801 degree is intended for students from a variety of vocational, academic and non-academic backgrounds who have typically had a break in their education.

Students study at Wirral Metropolitan College on Year Zero of the course, before studying on campus at the Eleanor Rathbone Building for part of Semester Two in Year One. They then study on the University campus for Years Two and Three.
