Nordic walking - intermediate

In the intermediate level, you can expect a more intense workout as we increase the pace and introduce longer distances. We'll also help you refine your form in our invigorating classes that will challenge you while keeping the fun and camaraderie of Nordic walking alive.

These classes are designed for those who are eager to take their Nordic walking to the next level and experience even greater health benefits.

Please bring with you a comfortable pair of running shoes with a good thread or lightweight walking shoes. If the weather looks wet please bring waterproofs. Wrap up and wear gloves, hat and a couple of thin layers when it’s cold to start that you can easily remove as you warm up walking.

Nordic walking poles are provided.

These are open ended classes delivered in 4 week blocks, you are welcome to keep attending our intermediate classes until you feel ready to move on to our 

Dates and times

Four weekly sessions 10.30am-12pm.

  • Wednesday 6 December - Wednesday 3 January (no session Wednesday 27 December).
  • Wednesday 17 January - Wednesday 7 Febuaray
  • Wednesday 13 March - Wednesday 10 April (no session Wednesday 3 April)
  • Wednesday 17 April - Wednesday 8 May
  • Wednesday 15 May - Wednesday 5 June
  • Wednesday 12 June – Wednesday 3 July


Each 4 week block costs £45 (£36 for members of Ness Gardens).

Suitable for

Aged 16+. You should have , or have experience of nordic walking and be capable of walking continuously for at least an hour at a moderate pace.
