Principle Investigator of a research project funded by the AHRC Beyond Text programme. The project involved a partnership with National Museums Liverpool and the V&A Museum and engaged with the practical and theoretical issues involved with preserving and representing popular music in a museum.

From 2006-2008 I was seconded to the position of as lead curator for a major exhibition on Merseyside’s popular music history which formed part of Liverpool’s 2008 Capital of Culture celebrations. 'The Beat Goes On' exhibition was shown at World Museum Liverpool (July 2008 - November 2009).
