MA Business of Classical Music relaunched as MA Classical Music Industry
The MA Business of Classical Music – run in partnership with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic – has been renamed as the MA Classical Music Industry.
The new name better reflects the practical, industry-focussed content of the programme, as well as the vital contribution from the RLPO in providing the necessary industry expertise and experience. It also brings the programme into line with the longstanding and successful MA in Music Industry Studies.
The structure and content of this innovative programme remains the same: alongside the taught component of their degree – which consists of modules including Artistic Planning, Audiences, and Music Contracts – students undertake a prestigious, semester-long work placement with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.
As the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic consists of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Grade II* listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and an extensive learning and education programme, the internship element enables students to become familiar with the operation, management and development of both a professional symphony orchestra and a major arts venue.
