About us

The Mammalian Behaviour and Evolution research group was established in 1998. Our group is based at the Leahurst campus on the Wirral and is part of the Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences.

Our group conducts research across a number of interlinked areas within the fields of animal behaviour, ecology, conservation biology and animal welfare. We are integrated into the School of Veterinary Science for teaching, undergraduate research projects, and running an intercalated Veterinary Conservation Medicine BSc.

We have established unique facilities for studying mammalian behaviour.

We welcome enquires from postgraduate or postdoctoral researchers, and for potential collaborations with other groups either within or outside the University of Liverpool.
