Dr Kerry Barry

Personal Statement

Kerry was appointed as a Derby Fellow in Law in September 2019. She was previously been a Lecturer in law at the University of Salford and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Liverpool. Kerry completed her PhD at the University of Liverpool. Her thesis analysed the experiences of unrepresented parents in the family courts. Kerry holds both an LLM in General Law and an LLB from the University of Liverpool.

Kerry specialises in access to justice. Her interests include the changing nature of the legal services sector, litigants in person and procedural justice in the family courts.
