I had the task of designing and delivering an alternative capstone dissertation module for SSPC. I had identified the need for students to be able to develop their creativity, think outside of the box, and to effectively influence and communicate beyond academic disciplines.

I joined forces with Professor Matt Murphy of Engineering, to create a unique learning opportunity that exposes students to real-world problems that they will encounter in their graduate careers. You can read more about this approach in articles published by Wonkhe and Times Higher Education

It is important to note that this module is delivered holistically with professional services colleagues such as the Careers and Employability Team. Matt Jones, Career Consultant and Faculty Manager, and Lib Golding, Enterprise Educator, were integral for delivering this module and providing students with embedded employability skills throughout, and the commercial awareness required. You can read more on this approach in an article published by Wonkhe.
