Background

I completed a BSc degree in Cellular Biology and Physiology at the University of Paris-Diderot, followed by a MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie. During my master, I did my research internship at the Pasteur Institute (Paris, France). Then I continued my education by completing a PhD in Biology-Health at the University of Limoges. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher Associate in the Department of Clinical Infection, Microbiology and Immunology. I am interested in host-pathogen interactions, bacterial virulence and antimicrobials resistance.

Project

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Streptococcus pneumoniae is spread globally. Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) has decreased AMR among vaccine-type strains, but now, AMR emerges by expansion of non-PCV types. The aim of my project is to decipher mechanisms (genetic/functional) which are involved in acquisition and transmission of antibiotic resistant pneumococcal strains, before and after pneumococcal vaccination, working in an in vivo mouse model.
