Although you will study 5 core subjects on the Go Higher Foundation Diploma, the range of degrees our access programme prepares you for is so much broader. Students completing the Diploma progress to undergraduate programmes across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and to some pathways in other Faculties too.

In recent years, Go Highers have gone on to complete degrees in  the School of Law and Social JusticeSchool of Histories, Languages and CulturesUniversity of Liverpool Management SchoolSchool of Psychology and School of Environmental Sciences.

Some of our students know what degree they want to do when they join us, but many do not, so do not worry if you are undecided and just want to explore your options. Go Higher will introduce you to a range of subjects, some you may not have considered. The 5 core disciplines you will follow on Go Higher are English Literature, History, Law, Philosophy and Sociology, plus you will have guest lectures from various academic departments across the University. We’ll also build your confidence in general academic skills such as academic writing, critical thinking, research and using the Library.

In the last two years, Go Highers have progressed on to degrees including Architecture, Psychology, English, History, Politics, Ancient History, Egyptology, Geography, Law, Archaeology, Marketing, Business Economics, Evolutionary Anthropology, Classics, Modern Languages, Geography, Town Planning, Philosophy, Irish Studies, Communication and Media, Music, International Relations – and more…

Our aim is always to support you to succeed on to whatever degree you choose. The Go Higher teaching team know how hard it can be as a mature student to juggle life and part time study, indeed most of them have done the same. (And some of our lecturers are former Go Highers too.) So, whatever career or pathway in the humanities you are considering, odds on Go Higher can help you get there.
