Previous Events

The past, present and future of the local historical voices and narratives
Tuesday 9 March 2021

We were joined by Hambaba Jimaima (lecturer and Head of Department, Department of Literature and Languages in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zambia) to discuss the representational order of artefacts in the Livingstone Museum (Zambia) in order to gain insights into the past, present and future of local historical voices and narratives.

Transnational Frontline Cinema in Southern Africa 1977-2001
Tuesday 13 April 2021

We were joined by Simon Bright (University of the West of England, Bristol) and Kenyan G Tomaselli (University of Johannesburg). The presentation raised questions about how cultural histories are written, and how transcultural collaborations and aesthetic exchanges between the Frontline States need to be considered alongside national studies of Southern African cinema history.

Upcoming Events

Events will be scheduled throughout the year.
