What does it mean to study Southern Africa?

The Southern Africa group aims to build a mutually-supportive relationship between researchers from across the Academy to focus on exactly what it means to study Southern Africa today. What are the tools at our disposal? How can we make a meaningful contribution and work collectively to build research capacity? And how do we meet the challenges of engaging with the Global South in general, and Southern Africa in particular, from a north-western European standpoint?
