Personal Statement

Elena graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Biological Sciences (Study Abroad) from Lancaster University in 2018. She subsequently completed an MSc in Human Anatomy from the University of Edinburgh in 2019. In January 2020, Elena started working as an Anatomy Demonstrator at the University of Birmingham where she has been delivering small group-teaching sessions and prosection-based practicals to medical, dentistry, biomedical sciences, pharmacy and physiotherapy students. In June 2020, Elena has received the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). In September 2021, Elena was awarded the Anatomy Medical Traineeship scholarship from the University College Dublin (UCD) in Dublin, Ireland to undertake a research masters focused on neuroanatomy education while teaching anatomy part-time during dissection-based practicals. in July 2022, she started working as a Lead Demonstrator in Anatomical Sciences at St George's University of London where she has been delivering lectures and prosection-based practicals to medical students and students from allied-health professions. While working at St George's University of London, Elena undertook a postgraduate certificate in healthcare and biomedical education. In October 2023, Elena moved to HARC to start working as a Doctoral Academic Teacher while undertaking her part-time PhD in neuroanatomy.
