An event showcasing the research findings and impact of the EPSRC Liverpool Centre for Mathematics in Healthcare  will take place this week.

The Research Showcase and Future Directions 2021 event will bring together academic researchers, clinicians and industry to share the latest research outputs from the Centre and to celebrate the success of its multidisciplinary research approach on the healthcare sector.

The event takes place online (via Zoom) on Monday 5 July and Tuesday 6 July. Attendance is free.

The programme also provides an opportunity to identify potential new collaborations in the context of emerging challenges and opportunities for the next generation of mathematics-related research for healthcare.

The EPSRC Liverpool Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Healthcare was established in 2015 to develop novel mathematical tools that address serious healthcare challenges.

The Centre is a focal point for activity at the mathematical sciences and healthcare technologies interface, and aims to deliver more refined and accurate predictive models and tools for personalised healthcare and related research, actively contributing to improving healthcare in the UK and beyond.

It brings together a large and interdisciplinary team of mathematicians, data scientists, biologists, computer scientists, engineers, clinicians, industrial partners and policy makers who interact more widely with other UK universities and NHS trusts.

It is supported by the Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and is in partnership with Lancaster University and Liverpool John Moores University.
