CFD Validation Database
With the ongoing development of the PMB flow code, there is a need to have a standardized resource for the evaluation and validation of new versions. This resource includes a number of test cases which are designed to cover an extensive range of geometries and flow conditions. To aid in the development of the code, and allow a quick and easy method of validation, the test cases include appropriately structured grids, and extensive experimental data. This allows validation to be as accurate as possible, and little time is wasted in the validation process.
The test case database includes a range of flow conditions which are designed to test the scope of the PMB flow code. They are also designed as a stimulus to combining each development into a general code capable of covering the wide range of flow conditions encountered in today's aerospace industry. Each test case includes a brief description of the original experiments where possible, flow conditions, PMB structured meshes, any ICEM-CFD files if possible and experimental data for validation.
