Interns

The Equine Hospital currently employs 4 interns whose principle responsibility involves the care of our in-patients including supervision of and assisting undergraduate veterinary students whilst on their clinical rotations.

The interns are all qualified veterinary surgeons and they are responsible for assisting admission, evaluation and treatment of cases and providing high-level ongoing care of our equine in-patients under the supervision of a team of senior clinicians and senior clinical training scholars. These positions are highly sought after and provide our interns with further training in the fields of medicine, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and imaging.

Previous interns at the equine hospital have gone on to gain equine residency positions, PhDs or have returned to work in equine practice.

Veterinary surgeons interested in applying for internship positions can view our current opportunities.
