The team of equine technicians is managed by Helen Braid and is responsible for the daily care of the yards and the hospital’s equine in-patients.

The yard team is led by Jayne Tansey and Anna Sharp. Both are experienced riders and have owned horses for many years.

Anna has an advanced Diploma in Equine and Business studies and holds the Pony Club H test. She is a qualified BHSAI and currently competes her Connemara in Affiliated Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter Classes.

Jayne has worked on professional Event yards for many years and has competed to 3* level. She also acted as a groom for one of the Irish event team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Currently she is competing her own horse in Affiliated Dressage classes.

In addition to leading the team of yard staff, Jayne and Anna are also involved in acquisition of MRI images.

There are a total of 9 experienced equine yard staff, 6 of whom work full time. All the staff have horses and hold further BHS qualifications. Each member of the yard team is responsible for the care of 6 horses ensuring high-quality care of our equine in patients 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
