Personal Statement

I am a glaciologist interested in the processes that determine the behaviour of ice masses and their contribution to global sea-level through time. I try to use a range of techniques and combine geophysics, fieldwork, lab work and modelling.

Before coming to Liverpool I worked on the NERC funded MIDAS project at Aberystwyth University, where I used borehole geophysical data to study the structure of Larsen C Ice Shelf, Antarctic Peninsula. Previously I was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Aberdeen, where I also completed my PhD using airborne ice-penetrating radar to investigate the basal environment beneath West Antarctic ice streams.
