Personal Statement

I joined the University of Liverpool in September 2023 as a lecturer in World Cinema. I hold a PhD in Film Studies from King's College London. My research interests lie at the intersection of Middle East and North Africa cinema and socio-political history and culture. My first monograph, Egyptian Male Stars in Nasser's Era: Envisioning a Civic Identity, is currently under commission with the American University in Cairo Press and is due to be published in 2024.
