Personal Statement

I hold a BA in Empirical Linguistics and English as well as an MA in English and American Literatures, Cultures, and Media at the Universität Kiel in Germany. This is also where I taught cultural and postcolonial studies to Bachelor students of English as well as German to classes of international students before joining the University of Liverpool in 2019 as DAAD-Lektor. My main academic interests are game studies and cultural studies, which I love to incorporate into my language courses when the opportunity arises. What I enjoy most about teaching my native tongue is seeing students draw connections between the languages and cultures of the world and gain a broader sense of identity and belonging.
