The ARU is the only accredited teaching laboratory for the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) in Great Britain. Each year, the ARU provides laboratory schools for distance learning candidates that are doing the IOA postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.‌

The experiments carried out during these laboratory schools include sound absorption, sound insulation, sound power, sound intensity, subjective aspects of hearing, vibration, FFT analysis, and noise control.
