On 20th of March, the School of Law and Social Justice hosted their inaugural research sandpit in collaboration with the University of Liverpool’s Management School.

The event brought together 25 academics from across the Schools for an initial speed networking session, followed by breakout activities for structured discussions around shared research themes. It allowed space for researchers to expand their networks and consider approaching research problems from different disciplinary perspectives.

The event concluded with a networking lunch and is followed up with a pump-priming scheme focussed on supporting early-stage research activity arising from new and existing connections across the Schools.

Reflecting on the significance of the sandpit, Professor Barry Godfrey, Associate Dean for Research and Impact, School of Law and Social Justice, said:
"This collaborative effort builds upon the interdisciplinary research going on within the School of Law and Social Justice, and forges relationships with esteemed colleagues within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. I look forward to seeing the outcomes of the pump-priming scheme as it promises to further catalyse research initiatives across the School of Law and Social Justice and the Management School.”
